Lore of
A Silent Echo

Back

Whisk (She/Her)

Whisk carries silence like others carry weapons. Born voiceless, marked in youth by something she never speaks of, she moves through the world in a language of hands and shadows. Once, when she was small enough to be called kit, someone took more than her voice. They took her tail. Her claws. Pieces of her that would never grow back. The trauma carved itself deeper than flesh, settling into the marrow of who she would become. Now her hands shape words in ASL, fluid and deliberate, while her eyes watch everything, miss nothing. She has learned to survive in the spaces between sound, to be underestimated, to let others think silence means weakness. They always realize their mistake too late.

Angel (She/Her)

Angel is an incredibly vibrant and outgoing person who channeled her boundless energy into creative endeavors. Her defining characteristic is an unwavering, almost dazzling, sense of positivity; she is so relentlessly optimistic that she genuinely struggles to comprehend that others might experience negativity or pessimism. While this cheerful disposition is largely endearing, it sometimes causes her to come across as slightly pushy or inadvertently annoying, as she often attempts to force a silver lining onto every cloud, regardless of the situation's gravity. This cheerful exterior, however, masks a past self rooted in deep insecurity, as Angel used to be perpetually preoccupied with her physical appearance and consumed by anxiety over what others thought of her. The turning point in her life occurred serendipitously one afternoon at the grocery store when she met Whisk. Angel was immediately captivated by the sheer confidence and composure with which Whisk carried herself. Witnessing this authentic self-acceptance inspired a profound change in Angel, motivating her to shed her insecurities, embrace her natural positivity, and finally find true happiness in being exactly who she is.

Void (He/Him)

Void used to be half human, so he could see people and ghosts. Although he could do this, no other kid wanted to be around him. He was very naive and playful. One day, Void met a sorcerer and made a deal with him to get everybody to like him, in return for an unspecified price. Void, ever naive, accepted and became a ghost. He was then trapped in Whisk's house by a curse linked to a relic in the basement, even before Whisk moved in. After Whisk and her best friend Angel arrive, Void tries to scare Whisk, but she isn't afraid of ghosts. Angel is very frightened at first, but overjoyed afterward. Void remains trapped, unable to leave until someone saves him.

Joseph (He/They)

This is Joseph, a highly sophisticated robot originally brought into existence by Angel, who designed him specifically to fill the unique role of both a sibling and a friend. Due to his artificial nature, Joseph sometimes comes across as insensitive, not out of malice, but because he genuinely lacks the capacity to fully grasp the complex nuances of human emotions and empathy. Despite this specific limitation, he is an exceptional communicator and serves as the unwavering anchor for his team, maintaining calm and logic even amidst chaos and stress. Joseph is notorious among his peers for asking the most unusual, seemingly random, and often deeply philosophical questions during critical moments. This habit frequently leads the rest of the team to privately consider him slightly eccentric or "crazy." Yet, despite their occasional confusion, these unconventional inquiries are precisely why their lives are often saved; his unique, outside-the-box pattern recognition forces the group to pause, consider overlooked possibilities, and approach problems from angles no human would have thought of.

Crunch (He/Him)

Crunch is still learning to weaponize his candy biology, discovering how his flexible body might work in a fight. Though he’s picking up fighting skills, he’s caught in a comedic contrast: he tries to appear scary and intimidating, but his sweet appearance always makes him seem adorable and harmless. He’s slowly figuring out his quirks from his candy form: water seems to weaken him somehow (though he’s noticed he never needs a regular wash—why is that?). Fire makes him nervous—could it melt him? He avoids dirt and grime, yet strangely feels energized around electricity. He’s not sure why any of this happens, but he’s curious to find out and see where his candy-coated body takes him.
